because everyone says poetry is boring

but to me 

it's the opposite of a lullaby

like im alive

like when I heard that line, I was like

Oh my God, I’m gonna think about that 

til the day that I die

because honestly?

I didn’t have a crush on you

until I heard you read a poem

and now I fear my crush will last forever

and it’s not that I didn’t notice your outsides first

because trust me, I did

in that brief brief moment where I did see you

and yet had not heard you read a poem  

but while during after you were reading the poem

I saw you, 

no, like I really saw you.

It was we were touching each other

without ever meeting

it was like

the world is so fucked up but here 

I feel the world is healing

cause I’ve been grieving a culture

where you can ask the people around you for help

I’ve been grieving a country

that can’t seem to realize there’s more

than just the self

I thought I looked ugly when I cry

but baby

we got power when we pout

I’m a hot poet
